Byamee the Creator gave Boorah Spirit a voice by cutting a piece of wood from a tree, making a hole in one end and tying a good length of his hair through it. To this day, such pieces of wood have been the medium for Gayandi's voice and are kept hidden from all but the eyes of the Wirreenuns. The picture is the artist's interpretation of Byamee's creation of Gayandi (the bull-roarer).
