In the Dreamtime, a black maiden, Murrawar, fell in love with a rainbow. She would sing to him with all the love in her heart. Burwills, a very bad man, stole her for his wife. One day Murrawar ran away and Burwilla threw his killer boomerang to bring her back. She called out for help and her faithful Rainbow attacked the killer boomerang shattering it into many small pieces. To this day this place is known as Teewah Coloured Sands where the Rainbow Warrior lay on the beach to die with all it's colours forming the hills along this beautiful beach.
