Tibrogargan

Legend has it that Tibrogargan and Beerwah had many children. One day the ocean was rising and Tibrogargan told his son Coonowrin to help his mother to safety, but he disobeyed his father so Tibrogargan struck him  on the neck. When the water subsided, Coonowrin asked for forgivness, but his father was so ashamed of his son that to this day he looks out to the ocean , never to look at his son. Thus the name Crookneck is also known as Coonowrin.
