Miyajima is an island near Hiroshima, Japan. It is a spiritual place where Itsukushima Shrine was first built in the latter half of the sixth century. It was remodeled by Taira-no-kiyomori in 1168. The most noted symbol of Miyajima is about 200 metres out to sea called O-Torii (Grand Gate).
